CAT facts, Rankings and all about IIMK

Ok, this Sunday blogging isnt gonna work out. So Im gonna try weekly blogging at every possible opportunity. This week were our mid terms n believe me I need a break, so Its back to Kochi for some recuperation n some much needed dental treatment.
CAT's next week n suddenly lot of people have a lot of doubts. Since Ill be out at the weekend, Ill try to tell all I know. The best question I get is wat is the percentile to get a call from an IIM. The instructor at my test series told me 99.5 would get u a call from all the IIMs. That never happened, 99.69 n I got only 1 IIM call n dat from IIMK. N dats not a one off case. Many of my batchmates with higher percentiles got 1-2 calls only. The thing is dat institutes see cut-offs in all sections n they have their own parameters. So just do ur best, its comparitive.
The other question closer to my heart is the rankings. Believe me, I dont know how is it possible for anybody to rank colleges offering different advantages on 1 common scale. We have students at K who came here despite getting admission to colleges which were deemed better in many bschool rankings.
So the next best thing, I can do is tell u about IIMK. IIMK was meant to be a holiday resort, but then since nobody in his right mind would holiday in Kozhikode, they made into a bschool. On a more serious note, IIMK has good faculty n infrastructure. Its a growing institute with the advantage of the IIM tag. We may not have 20 years of seniors to build our brand image, but 20 years down the line I'm confident well be among the top 5 colleges with urs truly among the top ten business leaders. Hee Hee. Ok top 20. The only thing we dont have at K is hot water n dats its biggest drawback so read the rankings but dont believe it completely. If u probe hard enough, Ill have to accept dat we could do with some more additions to the general scenery. So if u have any good/nice/above average looking female friend/relation who wants to do an MBA, suggest IIMK to her. Believe me as her potential seniors we at K will extend all the 'support' that she might require. Though I would love this to sound like a suggestion, Its just two steps away from being a plea (humor intended).

Our situation isnt as bad,
as this log may make it seem.
Every night there is a lovely face,
who makes an appearence in my dream.
it isnt that we have given hope,
It isnt that we sit and grieve.
We know that wat we desire,
is wat we can achieve.
our only worry is this beautiful companion,
In life should come too late.
But even if that happens we have no fear,
We can always innovate.
